Pros & Cons
- These tubeless ready road bike tyres can be used in all conditions all year round.
- Greatly improved durability, puncture resistance and grip compared to the Continental GP5000.
- The compound's composition is geared towards grip when cornering and in wet conditions.
- The Vectran-breaker puncture-resistant layer is lighter, more flexible and better against cuts than a nylon-breaker layer.
- Compatible with hookless rims up to the highest tyre pressure your rims are suitable for.
- Does not have the speed of a Continental GP5000 tyre.

The unique Black Chili tyre compound was developed in Germany using the latest polymers, soot particles and filler materials to create unique performance features. A Vectran breaker was also added, which is lighter, more flexible and more effective against cuts without affecting rolling resistance. And so the Continental Grand Prix 5000 Allseason tyre performs better than ever before.
Vectran is manufactured from a liquid-crystalline polymer, creating a thermoplastic, multi-strand thread. By comparison, this partial crystalline polymer is more cut-resistant than aramid, and its tensile strength is five times that of steel. A Vectran breaker is lighter and more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than a nylon breaker layer. All without compromising on rolling resistance.
Active Comfort
A revolutionary approach in cycling. Embedded in the tyre construction, the Active Comfort technology absorbs vibrations and makes your ride much smoother.
Lazer Grip
Lazer Grip technology is aimed at making you one with the road. The lasered micro-profile structure expands over the tyre’s shoulder and ensures outstanding cornering grip.
Tubeless-ready tyres may be compatible with hookless rims but please note that this varies for different rim types and rim manufacturers. If your wheels have hookless rims, always check tyre type and tyre pressure compatibility with the relevant rim manufacturer.

Recommended for group rides on bike paths, not so much for commuting
I bought these as a durable commuter tyre. They are fast, but anything but durable. Already have a lot of damage on the centre thread. No puncture yet after 1000km though. Photo attached, on the same tyre I have another 7 places with the same damage after 1000km. Took the glass out without a puncture, but it sticks in very easily. Thick but soft rubber.

Highly recommended
This is my first experience with the AS continental tyre and frankly I don't regret it. I feel safe on the road and I'm no longer afraid of punctures. What's more, the 32 width is a very good alternative for Belgian roads. I feel much safer.
